Hello Heather!I am answering your request about the Garrisons of Virginia.I am Eric Volante age 39 and I live in Spotsylvania County, VA.My wife is 36, and daughters are almost 13 and almost 10.I am a water purification plant operator, and my wife is a CNA.My Maternal grandfather was James Wister Garrison originally from Stafford, Virginia, (my mother is Mary Amelia Garrison Volante)-which is the area where most of my Garrison family settled after coming from places like Scotland.They founded a little town in Stafford County called Garrisonville, VA.My grandfather spent most of his life in King George County, Virginia which is where I grew up.He operated a garage for many years there.He was born on April 4, 1892, and died December 1978.The oldest ancestor was James Sanford Garrison, born 1720 and died 1810.My mother's half brothers are: Leslie Garrison, and William Garrison-formerly of Maryland but in Fla. now-(about 88 yrs. old.)His siblings are: Clarice Garrison, John Garrison, and I forgot the rest momentarily.His first wife was Flossie, and his second wife, my grandmother was Elsie Goerlitz Garrison-born Nov. 1907, and died Feb. 1978.My mother's brothers are: Carl Wister Garrison of Stafford County, VA, and Stuart Roger Garrison of Arizona.If you think I can be of help, or would like to exchange info, which I have a lot of it and you can E-mail me your postal mailing address so that I can send you copies of my genealogy research.My E-mail address is: EVolante33@aol.com
